Photos - Some of Our Horses

At the start of 2011 we've made fifteen horses available for all levels of western pleasure riding as trail mounts, recreational mounts, or for riding lessons.

Our horses are wearing their winter coats here.

Rocket
Rocket

Rocket is 10 years old.   He's an alpha/lead horse on trail rides.  He a favored horse for trail riding, due to his sensitivity to the slightest body movement for direction and speed, as if an extension of the rider.  He's got a high level of endurance too.

Crackerjack
Crackerjack

Crackerjack is a quarterhorse paint, who'll give his rider plenty of times to trot, because his legs are shorter than most of the other horses, and he just doesn't like lagging behind on off-trail rides.

Prophet

Prophet is a tall quarterhorse we find ideally matched with taller riders of all skill levels.  He's hardy for longer rides too.

Spot-special paint
Spot

Spot's our special paint.  He's blind in his left eye, yet still considerably reliable, responsive, and suitable for riders below 6 years of age in our pasture, as well as out on long trail rides provided you don't mind his occasional tripping, but he keeps going.

Red Rock-Morgan
Red Rock

Red Rock's a morgan and former race horse.  He's around 10 years old too and competes with Rocket for alpha horse position.  His composure and controllability make him fun for western trail and off-trail riding, especially with his affinity to trot often.

Geronimo and Sandy
Geronimo and Sandy

Geronimo and Sandy were acquired together and simply like staying together.   Their winter coats are still pretty thick here.  Geronimo's lots of fun to ride for our smaller riders, for he's part American pony and appaloosa with a lot of spirit.  He prances quite a bit.
